About Me
The pursuit of a pictorial language
Born and raised in the Canton of Vaud in Switzerland from different cultural backrounds France (Mediterranean coast), Italy, Turkey (Istanbul- Levantine heritage), my artwork explores cultural identity and the need to create a pictorial language that unifies all the different cultures that have shaped me. My artistic approach lies at the intersection of Art Brut, craftsmanship, and abstraction. I consider each material to be a universe in itself, and colors help me translate sensations and express emotions. My years of studies in Paris in archaeology (Sorbonne 1) , art history and cultural mediation (IESA) opened my eyes and shaped my artistic path. Turkey, especially the city of Istanbul where part of my family comes from has been a constant source of inspiration for me. I was fortunate to be surrounded in my family by sensitive and curious women who introduced me to traditional Turkish craftsmanship and the Turkish modern, contemporary art. When I returned to Switzerland after my studies in Paris, my life changed radically due to my health condition. I worked for several years in West Lausanne in the Canton of Vaud as a cultural mediator and social worker leading art projects with teenagers. Working with teenagers was a revelation for me and led me to become an art therapist (HES-SO). In January 2026, I founded Nuances Divergentes www.nuancesdivergentes.ch, my private art therapy practice.
